Built across a chessboard,
not a board of directors.
CastledKing isn't a venture-backed startup trying to extract monthly fees from your passion. It's a hand-crafted platform built by one player, for everyone who loves the game.
Developer & 1800+ Player
I spent years grinding blitz and forgetting my opening preparation before deciding to build tools that actually fix how we learn.
Every feature, drill, and move calculation has been refined based on personal training and suggestions from players like you.

If you’ve played chess online for any amount of time, you know the frustration: platforms flooded with popups, aggressive gamification badges, micro-transactions for basic analysis, and tools built to keep you clicking rather than actually improving your calculation.
I got tired of it. As a software developer and an avid player, I started building custom scripts to organize my own opening lines and drill tactics without distraction. Over time, those scripts evolved into CastledKing.
Why there are no VCs here.
Venture capital demands exponential monthly growth, aggressive monetization, and dark patterns that turn players into numbers on a chart.
CastledKing is self-funded and intentionally lean. My goal isn’t to build a unicorn; it’s to build the single best training experience for people who genuinely care about getting better at chess. That means fast load times, clean board interaction, zero clutter, and respect for your focus.
Deep Practice
No mindless grinding. Every feature is structured around memory retention and tactical understanding.
Master Data
Annotated lines, engine evaluation, and master move statistics curated for practical over-the-board play.
Direct Craft
No middle managers. Suggestions and bug reports go straight to the code repository.
Let's study together.
Whether you're preparing a sharp Sicilian Dragon for your next club tournament or simply learning how to convert a rook endgame, I hope CastledKing makes your journey clearer and more enjoyable.
Thank you for spending your time here. If you ever have thoughts on how to make the platform better, I'm always one email away.
